The Indian Institute of Advanced Studies is the first building to have electricity in Shimla. Originally built as a home for Lord Dufferin, famous architect Henry Irwin designed this building which was subsequently used as a lodge for the Viceroys of India. You will find exquisitely carved wooden articles in Lakkar Bazaar which you can take back home as souvenirs. Take a stroll through the Mall Road which happens to be the busiest street in Shimla. Visit the scandal point which is the place where Maharaja of Patiala eloped with a British Lady, the point is near Mall Road.
